A rare 70-degree December day allowed Rotarians to dig a 3-foot-deep hole to install the sign acknowledging the parties who collaborated for the Metallophone outdoor musical instrument in Spearfish's Rotary Park.
President Tom Willnerd contributed professional-grade digging and rock-removal equipment in addition to a lot of sweat to dig the hole. In 2020 NBH Rotary purchased the Metallophone as an award to the Kenadi Jean Weis Foundation as part of the service club's 25th-anniversary Legacy Project. The instrument is positioned to be accessible to the able-bodied as well as those who enjoy Rotary Park using assistive mobility devices.
