Area first responders savored a hearty lunch in Spearfish City Park courtesy of the Northern Black Hills Rotary Club on a chilly but dry September 11.

Event coordinator Rhonda Westman thanked the attendees for their service to our communities and explained the history of the Rotary event that takes place every September 11 in Spearfish Park. New Spearfish Fire Chief Scott Deaver attended the event and brought along the new Type 3 fire engine. Rotarians and their families enjoyed connecting with the people who keep them safe day and night.

Cheyenne Crossing catered the event which included salads, grilled hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bratwurst, hot dogs, sauerkraut, assorted desserts, and beverages.

Northern Black Hills Rotary asks all Butte, Lawrence, and Meade County EMTs, dispatchers, sheriff, police, and fire employees, search and rescue, and school security to save the date for September 11, 2020.
