The Grace Mission orphanage and school in Haiti completed a wall protecting a nearly two-acre food garden with the installation of a permanent gate, all underwritten by the Northern Black Hills Rotary Club.
The garden is producing vegetables, and the students installed a water system made a big difference in starting new plants such as fruit trees and other plants. The photos below show the students and the produce they harvested to support their nutrition while being educated at the school. Grace Mission in Henderson, NE, took the lead on this project, and our own Bob Walther traveled to the garden to participate. What a heartwarming, sustainable undertaking!
