Managing and Mitigating COVID during the 2020-2021 BHSU academic year

Dr. Laurie Nichols, President of Black Hills State University, will provide a high level overview of the planning that occurred last summer to prepare for the year and talk a little about the CARES act and now COVID stimulus acts approved by Congress---funds provided to BHSU and how they were used (or will be used). Phil Pesheck is the Public Safety officer at BH and Dr. Jane Klug is Dean of Students. They have been BHSU's front-line leadership in managing COVID on a daily basis. Phil and Jane will provide more in depth information about specific actions taken to provide a safe environment for students/staff/faculty and how BHSU plans to proceed throughout the spring semester.

A number of significant events are described, especially in their interactions with the native peoples, the first Thanksgiving, and to cap off the first year, the arrival of additional Puritans from Leiden on the Fortune. |
